Manipal U inaugurates Jaipur campus

The Manipal (Karnataka) and Bangalore-based private sector Manipal University, a pioneer in the field of professional education which has five campuses in India and four overseas, laid the foundation stone of a world-class 100 acre campus in Jaipur on August 30.

“Rajasthan is our gateway to North India. We will build a world-class campus here and in the long run expand it to cover multiple disciplines, research initiatives and corporate out-reach programmes, on the lines of our campus in Manipal. Our goal is to significantly contribute in developing and nurturing human capital that will serve local and regional industry,” said Dr. Ramdas Pai, chancellor of the university, speaking on the occasion. The Jaipur campus will admit its first batches into its engineering, banking and finance, business management and research faculties at the commencement of the next academic year (July 2009).

“Manipal University is synonymous with education excellence and innovation, We are happy to welcome it in Jaipur. Our government is deeply committed to enhancing the availability of high quality education to the people of Rajasthan, and to progressively expand Rajasthan’s stature as the leading education hub of this region. The Manipal University campus at Dehmi Kalan is an important step in this direction” said Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje.
