Education

Pearson Education. The largest division of the company provides high quality content, technology and customised solutions to schools, colleges and professional training organisations around the world.

Edexcel. A major provider of internationally recognised academic and vocational certification to schools, colleges and employers. It is the UK’s largest examination board and has over 300 affiliated schools in the Indian subcontinent.

Pearson VUE. The global leader in computer-based testing for information technology, academic, government and professional assessment programmes, Pearson VUE conducts online exams through the world’s most comprehensive and secure network in over 165 countries. Among other exams, Pearson VUE conducts GMAT globally.

Pearson Clinical and Talent Assessment (PCTA). PCTA is a global leader in psychological assessment, providing a wide range of tests to assess cognitive ability, achievement, behaviour, personality and social adjustment. Also owner of one of the most trusted and well-known brands in psychological assessment — PsychCorp.

Pearson Language Tests (PLT). Pearson launched the Pearson Test of English-Academic (PTE-Academic), a computer-based test of English language in 2009. The test assesses the English language capability of non-native English speakers. PLT includes (PTE-Academic), endorsed by GMAC; Pearson Test of English General, and Pearson Test of English for Young Learners.

IndiaCan. IndiaCan is a joint venture between the Delhi-based Educomp Solutions Ltd and Pearson Group, promoted to bridge the gap between industry expectations and inadequate skill-sets of unemployed youth in India.

Media

Financial Times, London. FT (estb.1888) is the world’s most widely read business daily with a global print circulation of 390,000 and readership of 1.9 million per day.

Mergermarket. Delivers quality intelligence and data electronically to financial institutions, corporations and consultants. Its products include Mergermarket, dealReporters, debtwire etc.

The Economist. Since 1928, half the equity of The Economist (estb.1843), which has a circulation of 1.6 million per week, has been owned by the Financial Times. The other half is owned by a group of independent shareholders, including FT employees.

FTSE. A joint venture with the London Stock Exchange, FTSE helps investors worldwide make informed investment decisions. FTSE calculates over 1,200,000 scrips at the end of each day in more than 80 countries.

Books Publishing

Penguin Books. Penguin is among the world’s premier consumer publishing companies. Penguin Books India is the largest English language trade publisher in the subcontinent publishing across virtually every segment including self-help, cookery, reference and quizzing, biography, travel, picture books, business, politics, history, religion and philosophy and sports and leisure.

Dorling Kindersley (DK). Publishers of bestselling and award-winning, illustrative reference books for adults and children, DK was established in 1974 in London.

Rough Guides. Rough Guides is a leading publisher of travel and reference information. The guides — distributed worldwide by the Penguin group — cover more than 200 destinations around the globe and subjects as diverse as climate change and pregnancy.

Ladybird. Ladybird is one of the most well-known brands in children’s books. The brand was integrated with Penguin in 1999.
