HP-TERI School Future Programme

In partnership with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Hewlett Packard India announced the launch of Hewlett Packard-TERI Schools’ Future Programme — an initiative to upgrade environment projects in schools, on February 17. To fund the project, HP India has conferred a grant of $250,000 (Rs.1.25 crore) comprising cash and technology resources to TERI.

“Learning about waste management, energy conservation and ecological sustenance has become essential in this day and age, because the world needs the new generation to treat our environment responsibly. We are pleased to be partnering with TERI, a renowned organisation in the field of environment education, which has been a driving force behind environment conservation and awareness at the grassroots level,” said Ms. Neelam Dhawan, managing director, HP India.

Under the partnership agreement, the Hewlett Packard-TERI Schools’ Future Programme will help primary and secondary schools in Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi to take practical action to conserve energy and water to reduce their utility bills. The programme will support schools directly with ideation, and help implement their environmental initiatives. The initiative also involves providing HP technology to schools, which will enable them to network with other schools and share best practices.
