Veta launches VetaOne

With a successful footprint in towns with 4-lakh plus population, the Chennai-based Veta, Asia’s largest spoken English training academy promoted by Amoha Education (P) Ltd, announced the launch of VetaOne, a new venture aimed at building India from the grassroots level, on May 14. The objective of VetaOne is to provide English language learning to youth in smaller towns (1 lakh plus population).

“Today the socio-economic scenario in our semi-rural landscape is far from satisfactory. There is rampant unemployment and people are largely dependent upon non-permanent earning opportunities. Nevertheless, we can see a positive attitude developing among the people in these small towns. They are waking up to the importance of speaking and using good English. As market leaders in spoken English training in India, we can train the people of these towns to speak fluent English, thus empowering them to face the challenges posed by a booming economy as they migrate from small town India to bigger cities in pursuit of employment,” said Major K.V. Rajan, executive director of Veta, speaking on the ocassion.

Veta (estb. 1981) offers two types of courses — direct training and distance education. Currently, Veta has 200 training centres in over 100 cities in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, among others. Over 2.1 million individuals have been trained by Veta to date.
