Busy April in VDJS

April was a busy month for the Hissar (Haryana)-based Vidya Devi Jindal School (VDJS) for girls. An art exhibition, Oeuvres D Art, was staged by the fine arts students of the school from April 9-14 at New Delhi’s All India Art and Crafts Society. An array of paintings, sculptures and craft works of VDJS students was displayed for four days for students and the public of the national capital. The exhibition was inaugurated by Naveen Jindal, MP (member of Parliament) and Deepika Jindal, chairperson of VDJS.

The school attained another milestone by hosting a seminar attended by over 55 school principals and teachers from Haryana, north India and beyond. The ‘Raising Teaching-Learning Standards to Global Norms’ seminar staged on April 12 under the aegis of EducationWorld was addressed by Dr. Jitendra Nagpal, senior consultant psychiatrist VIMHANS, New Delhi; Dilip Thakore, editor, EducationWorld; Ashish Rajpal, managing director, iDiscoveri Education; Susmita Pruthi, head of NIIT Ltd and Brig. T. Mukherjee (Retd). Speakers at the seminar stressed the need of holistic school education, the necessity of developing life skills, and the importance of utilising technology to accelerate learning.
