WWF-Tetra Pak’s Young Climate Savers Programme

To enable india to attain its energy efficiency goals and combat climate change, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) India and Tetra Pak India have joined hands to launch the Young Climate Savers Programme — a series of workshops on climate change and related subjects in schools across the country.

The objectives of these forthcoming workshops are to educate and motivate students across the country to contribute in a meaningful manner to reducing the ecology damage impact of climate change, and inculcate leadership and motivational skills for promoting energy efficient lifestyles and eco-friendly attitudes.

“Tetra Pak is committed to follow the path of sustainable development by doing business in harmony with nature. To lead by example we have made a global pact with WWF to reduce our CO2 emissions by 10 percent by 2010; introduce a recycling programme that ensures an annually incremental number of used cartons are recovered and recycled; and to work with renewable materials and energy that don’t burden our planet’s finite resources. Moreover in our proposed workshops we will suggest low-carbon lifestyle choices that children and their parents can follow,” says Jaideep Gokhale, programme head, food for development office and environment, Tetra Pak India Pvt. Ltd.
